Ryan Kent’s official MLS stats include one match, zero goals, and zero assists. But in soccer, that never tells that story of what insight those fifteen minutes provided for the rest of the Season for the Seattle Sounders and the supporters of the rave green.

Avoiding the traditional media frenzy, Kent shows off his jersey on the training pitch.

Ryan Kent's first 15 minutes as a Seattle Sounder displayed two critical elements that the Sounders have been missing. The Sounders have multiple starters returning from injury. Kent could be the last piece of the puzzle for a successful run through the MLS season. Ryan Kent was on the pitch with Jordan Morris and appeared to be just as fast. He kept up with him as Morris made runs to get behind the defense providing Morris with the option of passing, which hasn’t been the case for him is Seattle. You want your number 9 to aggressively pursue goals, and Morris did shoot both times the defense was beat, only to be stopped by some fantastic saves by the Nashville net minder, Joe Willis. That is what you want from your striker, Jordan Morris took the shots, however the option of passing to Kent makes the attack harder to defend, which could produce goals for the both of them. This could be answer for the Sounders to the growing trend to having 3 central defenders, who generally lack the speed to keep up.

When Ryan Kent did get the ball, he demonstrated skill. His touches were clean, he showed good vision on the pitch and added creativity to the Sounders attack. While he struggled to connect with some of his teammates, that will come as he becomes more familiar with them. He attempted a no look pass and some other creative connections that, while they didn't pan out, it gave a glimpse into what's to come as he gets used to the skill and tendencies of the Sounders’ squad.

Ryan Kemp awaits steeping on to the pitch for the first time in MLS.

He does have a peculiar number. He chose number 77. He did say that the number he wanted was already taken, one can only speculate that's because 11 was not available and that is the position that he plays. He did not divulge anything else about his choice. Ironically, it is Albert Rusnak that wears number 11, and the Seattle coaching staff claimed that the two had crossed paths before coming to MLS.

Without Jordan Morris on the pitch, the Sounders have struggled to have a legitimate outlet and counterattack. With the addition of Ryan Kent on the left wing, it could open up a series of possibilities for a more exciting and dynamic attack, connecting passes between the two of them, as well as the players that will be trying to catch up to the play.

Ryan Kent should add extra excitement and potency to the Seattle Sounders attack.

Moving forward. The Sounders can build on their last performance against Nashville, where they scored for the first time against that franchise ever, and chalked up their first win against Nashville. Their next test will be against Colorado as they try to improve their 8th place ranking in the Western Conference.
